I can’t imagine going back to unfiltered shower water after installing this filter.
Skin and hair feel softer, I’m a man with sensitive skin so I need to shave in a hot shower.
This filter makes shaving such an easier experience and leaves my face as smooth as a baby’s bottom.
I recommend this to anyone who showers. You owe to yourself and your family. Trust me, look up
the dangers of unfiltered shower water.

Install took 5 min and I never install anything.

I had this shower filter for a couple days and hadn’t really noticed anything different, I was just appreciating not inhaling chlorine every time I showered. It wasn’t until I went and showered somewhere else for a day that I realized that it had slowly been making a difference in the way my skin felt. I emerged from the other shower feeling like a flaky, dry, itchy mess and it made me miss my new shower filter.

Daughter has sensitive skin and the previous reviews of the Culligan filter suggested that dechlorinating the water might help. So far, it seems to have helped very nicely. Hey, Culligan Man, pretty neat

review is from: Aquasana AQ-4100 Deluxe Shower Water Filter System with Adjustable Showerhead

I’ve been using this filter for several weeks now and I have to say that there
was an immediate positive difference in they way the water felt.

It makes my hair and skin softer. And they air that evaporates after is
healthier to breathe in. These three factors easily justify the minimal cost.

I just wish I would have known about doing this a long time ago. I’m 38 and this
is something my parents should have known and done while I was growing up.

I believe domestic tap water in any city should be filtered and enhanced in every
way possible because it’s your life source! Water is what all living things are
    made of.

This is my first water filter ever and from research and other testimonies this
aquasana shower filter is well worth it and the best bang for the buck!

    To your everyday health…Cheers!

what a terrible company! they’re water filter not only didn’t work, but the water tasted worst than what came out of the faucet. To top it off, the company doesn’t like to refund your money! i’ve had to file a dispute with my credit card company because Sun Water Systems (which is who Aquasana is) never credited my credit card (after almost 2 months had passed that I returned the filter!). What a bunch of crooks! Save your money – get a different filter from a more reputable (and trustworthy company).
    this one sucks!

Decent but unnecessary issues, September 1, 2011

This review is from: Culligan HSH-C135 Level 2 Hand-Held Filtered Chrome Showerhead (Health and Beauty)
I installed this in a rental house where the water is very hard and its the first filtered showerhead I’ve tried. It was easy to install, but I really had to crank down the pivot joint on the shower arm mount. The weight and leverage of the hand-held when its in the ‘cradle’ causes the pivot joint to droop/angle down. It seems to be fine for now, but I see this getting loose again over time and with normal use meaning periodic re-tightening.

Also, yellow water comes out for the first couple seconds when turning it on. I believe this to be the little bit of water still in the hose after shut-off that has reacted with the filter. It runs clear after a second or two but it is a bit shocking when you first see it. I also had to explain this to the tenant so they wouldn’t be alarmed.

All in all, these are two issues I shouldn’t have with something as simple as a showerhead. I’d prefer something I can install once without the need for periodic adjustment or explanation about its quirks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap parts, constructed poorly, but filter works very well., August 1, 2011

This review is from: Culligan HSH-C135 Level 2 Hand-Held Filtered Chrome Showerhead (Health and Beauty)
We used these at our old house to filter out gaggingly high levels of chlorine from the municipal water supply. There were no in between options when we were shopping for a solution in 2003. It was either put these in each shower for relatively cheap, or install a whole house filter system for around $1500. Either way, each comes with filters that catch the various particulates and eventually (3 months to a year depending on which product and how heavy the particulate load is and how well the filter works) clog up and have to be replaced. Since a whole house filter was not in the budget, we went with these.

As almost everyone else has pointed out, these are not quality controlled at all. We had one that was by chance never a problem and another that broke and had to be replaced before two years use. But the filters work great. The amazing and almost immediate difference they make to hair and skin is worth taking the gamble that you may have to replace the handle unit every once in a while. Not making any excuse for Culligan’s lack of quality construction, but this thing is a heckuva lot cheaper than wasting money on ultra high end luxury shampoos, conditioners and skin care products whose effects are cancelled by unfiltered water.

Also, these only come in the one ugly color combo as you can see, silver (“chrome”) aluminum and gray plastic. They will clash with most modern bathrooms and will stand out like a sore thumb in designer bathrooms. Apparently other colors of aluminum and plastic would have cost Culligan too many pennies that they somehow could not have added to the price.

B+ for filtering quality, D- for ugly, poorly made, and crapshoot durability.

I may have expected too much from this shower massage. I thought that since it’s supposed to be filtered, it would feel more like a shower with soft water. I know we have extremely hard water here in the Los Angeles area so maybe it was just too hard for the filter to handle. I didn’t notice any difference between this showerhead and my last one. One thing I found with this showerhead is that you MUST buy a new filter to replace the old one because the showerhead won’t work without a filter in place :(
